1:14 Ferrari F12 Berlinetta R/C Car Review
When Ferrari replaced the 599 with the F12
Berlinetta, it became the company’s most powerful road-going car (until the
LaFerrari came along). This is a review of this excellent rc car fromAlif Mohammad Magdy.
As a Ferrari fan I was eager to have one as an R/C car in my collection. I had the predecessor, the 599 GTO, so I wanted the successor too. When it became a famed magazine’s “Supercar of the year 2012” and after watching Jeremy’s review on THAT motoring show, I wanted it even more.
I started looking for one on the internet.
Various companies like MZ, Maisto, XQ had made the F12 R/C car in 1:14 scale
then but I would go for a Rastar one. For some reason I had to wait 2 years to
get it. Finally on April 14th, 2015, it entered my collection.
Let’s talk about the R/C. It is one of the
best looking Ferraris ever and one of the great looking cars in my collection.
It may look fat, heavy, but it isn’t. The interior is well detailed. You can
even see the Manettino on the steering wheel. Air vents, central bridge,
Ferrari written on the dashboard, fake carbon fiber detailing, everything is
there.
The exterior is nicely detailed too.
There’s ‘Pininfarina’ written on the body. Red brake calipers, Prancing Horse
logo on the front and on the back, front lip, vents that help cooling the
brakes of the real car are there too. Those lights work great, except for the
rainlight which isn’t functional. As it’s a front-engined car, you can’t see
the magnificent V12 engine like you can on the other mid-engined Ferrari R/C
car. No, you can’t open the hood. But you can see the luggage compartment. It’s
something, right?
Mine didn’t come with any battery. You have to feed it five 1.5V AA batteries if you want to play and one 9V battery is needed for the remote control. I don’t buy R/Cs for playing with them, but your kids might want to.
The rear-end may resemble the uterus.
You’ll agree with me too. But it’s sexy. Maybe it’s the reason why this car
looks feminine. And I love it.
The F12 Berlinetta R/C car is alluring.
Ah, I wish I could drive and review the
real thing!
